President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday congratulated Kamarudeen Usman on the successful defence of his Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight title, saying his victory has lifted the spirits of Nigerians despite the gloom COVID-19 pandemic has brought. Buhari’s congratulatory message was contained in a statement made available to journalists by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina. The statement was titled “President Buhari congratulates Kamaru Usman for retaining UFC title”. Usman had earlier in the day retained the title with an emphatic win over Jorge Masvidal. With the victory, Buharu said Usman had reminded the world that good things and great people still come out of Nigeria. He added that the victory further proved that things will get better at the fullness of time when all remain committed to the nation’s vision. Ortom demands arrest of Miyetti Allah leaders From Rose Ejembi , Makurdi  President Muhammadu Buhari has described the attack on some Benue communities, where more than 50 people were killed, by suspected herdsmen, as criminal and painful. The president stated this, yesterday, during a condolence visit to Governor Samuel Ortom, at Government House, Makurdi.  He expressed sadness over the incident.  “We feel your pain, especially our mothers, who bore us in their wombs. Government will not sit down and watch people being killed and their property destroyed. Anyone found wanting deserves maximum punishment,” he said.   Represented by the Minister of Interior, Lt. General Abdulrahman Dambazzau, Buhari advised Nigerians against politicising the killings and noted that many people are already cashing on it for selfish political reasons. Napoli are now the Serie A table leaders with a two-point lead over Inter with the two clubs that will face each other this coming Saturday. Troops of 202 Battalion, 21 Brigade of the Nigerian Army on Operation Lafiya Dole said it has killed 3 Boko Haram terrorists and rescued a child in an enclave at Abaram, Churuchuru and Aulajiri villages in Bama Local Government Area of Borno state.
